All I Want for Christmas...

With fewer than 5 days left until Christmas, it’s a safe bet that most of you Moms have long since ticked off all the needed items on your shopping lists. Now the only people left doing their Christmas shopping are the people who are shopping for you! That’s right...’tis the season for Dads to begin their shopping. But no worries, I’ve got them covered this year. Pass this list on to your husband and kids and I promise that this Christmas morning you won't find a cleverly wrapped vaccuum cleaner under your tree!

Top Ten Things Mom REALLY Wants for Christmas

10) A full page ad in the local newspaper singing her praises. Mom’s don’t get enough of this on a daily basis, so why not take some time this year to let the world know what all she does for you and how cheerfully(?) she does it. Come to think of it...better make it a two page spread.

9) More sleep. The one thing every Mom wants and no amount of money can buy enough of.

8) One meal that she actually gets to eat while it’s hot. And we’re not talking about the face full of lukewarm sweet potatoes the 6 month old sprays her way. I mean actually sitting down in a civilized manner and feeding herself FIRST for a change.

7) A Massage Therapist on retainer. Her back has never been the same since she began toting around that huge diaper bag and a lifetime of guilt on a daily basis.

6) Refer to number 9.

5) World Peace. But she’ll settle for 2 hours of no fighting, kicking, biting or scratching by the children in her immediate household.

4) A Maid. And not the kind where you have to spend a day cleaning in order for her to come do her job. I’m talking about someone who can come into the midst of the chaos and straighten, organize and clean without ANY direction from you. Twenty Four hours a day. Seven days a week.

3) Have we already mentioned more sleep???

2) Her mind back. She’s lost it for quite some time now, and it may actually benefit you in numerable ways if she could regain even a semblance of sanity.

1) Diamonds. Can’t explain it...and I know it’s shallow, but there’s something about the 4 C’s that hypnotize us into believing that even though we are clad in peanut butter smudges, yesterday’s breakfast and greasy fingerprints...we are stunning. Come to think of it...save your pennies and devote the rest of your life to telling her that she is beautiful. Inside and out. Sweats and all.

For the Mom in your life...tell her you appreciate all she does for you and the way she makes it all look so effortless! To be honest, that’s all she truly needs. Well...that and a little more sleep.

Have a BLESSED Christmas. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
